Finding Your True Worth: A Lesson from a 150-Year-Old Ring

I said to my granddaughter, Krislyn; “Here is a ring my grandma gave to me. It is almost 150 years old. Before I give it to you, will you go to the jewelry store and tell them I want to sell it, and see how much they offer you.

She went to the jewelry store and when she came back she said “They offered $150 because it's so old."

I asked her then to go the pawn shop.

She gladly went off to the pawn shop and when she came back she told me; "The pawn shop offered $50 because it so dull and worn."

Then I asked her to go to the museum and show them the ring.

She went to the museum. When she returned, she was excited and talking real fast. She said, “Lynnie; oh my goodness, The curator offered $500,000 for this very rare piece to be included in their precious jewelry collection."

I said; “ Baby Girl, I want you to know, you might have to look in several places to know who values you in the an honorable way. If you find yourself in the wrong place, don’t get hurt and angry if you are not valued.

Honor yourself by knowing your true worth. You are a precious jewel! I know your true value and appreciate you. Never, ever stay in a place where nobody sees your value."

All my love!
